New body part discovered
At University Hospitals Leuven, two surgeons have discovered a new body part. A ligament that is located in the knee and participates in a role when patients undergo a tear in their anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), which is a common sports injury. It is called the Anterolateral ligment and was discovered while using macroscopic dissection methods subsequently doctors began figuring out possible reasons for problems after rehabilitation for ACL.
they discovered a paper that was written in 1879 that hypothesized the presence of a previously unknown ligament in the knee. Based on the discovery by Dr. Claes and Dr.Bellemans, the author’s estimate was true. It is claimed to be in 97% of all patients. A tear in the ALL ligament is what causes the pivot shift, a common complication after ACL rehabilitation.
June 2013 was the last time a new human body part was discovered. The discovery of the microscopic layer in the human cornea made eye surgery much simpler and safe. Though we believe we have discovered everything about the anatomy of our human bodies, there’s always more hidden secrets that need revealing.
