Traveling to Mars
An unmanned test flight for the machinery that will bring humans to asteroid and then mars, will be performed by NASA’S Orion spacecraft. Though traveling to Mars has always been “talk”, NASA has finally announced projected dates. Orion will bring four astronauts at one at a time to asteroids between Earth and Mars by 2025. The first humans will get to the planet by the mid-2030’s. This will be the longest length humans have travelled to space since the Apollo 17. The cabin within the Orion will be filled with 1,200 sensors in order to get information about radiation and heat. It will also test different systems, including the launch abort system. The Orion will be launched on Thursday at 7:05 am EST from the Kennedy Space Center. It will orbit the Earth at a distance 15 times faster than of the international space station, and deploy 11 parachutes upon reentry, and end up in the Pacific Ocean around 11:30 am EST.
